MEET OUR LEAD TRAINERS AND EVALUATORS

Nathan Foreman, PT, DPT Principal

Nathan is a physical therapist with over 20 years of academic teaching and clinical research experience, along with global education and consultation for rehab drug and device companies. He has experience in multi-phase international IND/NDA drug and device clinical trials, product design and development, and large-scale, 500+ institution data acquisition and analysis projects. His area of clinical expertise is in movement/gait analysis, measurement selection, and electrophysiology. Nathan is a graduate of Texas A&M University, and earned his Master of Physical Therapy at The University of Texas -Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas and his Doctor of Physical Therapy from The University of Montana. Nathan currently resides in the DFW area of Texas.

Laurey Brown, PT, DPT, PCS

Dr. Brown is a board-certified specialist of pediatric physical therapy who works at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. Laurey received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Washington University in St. Louis and completed the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disability (LEND) fellowship through Boston Children's Hospital. She has over 16 years of experience treating a variety of patients and specializes in those with neuromuscular diagnoses. Throughout her clinical practice, she has worked as an evaluator for various trials, has taught at the graduate level and has presented posters at national and international conferences.  She currently resides in Chicago. 

Emily Case Lazzaro, PT, DPT

Dr. Lazzaro is a physical therapist with over 15 years of clinical and research experience. Emily graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in mechanical engineering and earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Miami while working in the Neuromotor Rehabilitation Research Lab at the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis. She served critical research roles for the Robotics Lab, Hand Lab, and Single Motor Unit Lab at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (now the Shirley Ryan Ability Lab). She has presented at multiple national and international conferences in the area of robotics rehabilitation and guest lectured at two universities in the Seattle area. She currently resides in southern Indiana.

Matt Civitello, PT, MPT

Matt is a Physical therapist with 25 years of experience with the last 13 years in neuromuscular disease.  Matt has worked in several large multidisciplinary clinics and been the primary evaluator for multiple clinical trials.  Matt also has experience in training other PTs around the world to perform clinical assessments in neuromuscular clinical trial research.  Matt received his Masters degree in Physical Therapy at Duquesne University.  Matt currently resides in the Pittsburgh area.

Molly Corrigan, OTD, OTR/L

Dr. Corrigan is an occupational therapist with over 12 years of clinical and research experience.  Molly graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in community health and earned her Doctorate of Occupational Therapy from Washington University in St. Louis.  While working as a clinician at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (now the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab), she also held several roles within the Robotics and Hand Labs.  Molly has presented at courses within RIC/SRALab as well as posters at national and international conferences.  She currently resides just outside of Chicago. 

Edie Elder, MS PT

Edie is a physical therapist with over 40 years of pediatric clinical experience. Edie graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles with a degree in Kinesiology and earned her Master of Physical Therapy from Columbia University in New York, NY in 1983.  Edie has spent most of her career serving children and their families through California Children’s Services designed to support medically fragile/high risk infants, both at home and in the classroom.  She contributed many years performing developmental assessments and treatments within the NICU, in-patient and outpatient settings, and most recently provides in-home and outpatient treatments to infants and toddlers through the Early Start programs at Kidstream and the Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose, CA.  Edie currently resides in Northern California.

Krista Gabello, PT, DPT, PCS

Dr. Gabello is a board-certified pediatric clinical specialist, and has practiced pediatric physical therapy for the last 18 years at Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Her primary focus is neurologic and cardiopulmonary pediatrics. She has been adjunct faculty in several Philadelphia based Universities. In addition to clinical care and education, Krista spent 8 years as a clinical specialist and business development representative in Manhattan for a neurorehabilitation company. Her business experience, areas of clinical expertise and role as educator complement her current role in strategic customer engagement for a large healthcare company. Krista graduated with her Master followed by Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of the Science in Philadelphia. She currently resides in Manhattan.

Amie Panteny, PT, DPT

Dr. Panteny is a physical therapist with over 15 years experience in a variety of settings from pediatrics to geriatrics in acute care, outpatient and school based programs.  She received her Master of Physical Therapy from UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas followed by her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from The College of St. Scholastica. Her area of specialty includes developmental and functional movement in children as well as with neurological and orthopedic patients. Amie resides in the DFW area of Texas. 

Carmen E. Sanchez, PhD

Dr. Sanchez is a licensed clinical psychologist, a clinical researcher and a published scientific writer.  She earned her MA and PhD degrees from the University of South Carolina with an internship at Duke University.  She has worked extensively with the clinical evaluation of children age 0-3 years and with children and adolescents with rare diseases.  Her work has extended to the pediatric and adult populations, particularly in the area of neurocognitive issues.  She has participated in global education, training raters to use various psychological instruments and following up on their ability to use these instruments with fidelity.  She has shaped impactful data collection systems, minimizing data errors and streamlining key research processes. Carmen currently resides in Durham, NC.

Emma Steven, OT, M.SC.(A)

Emma is an occupational therapist with over 14 years of clinical and research experience. She graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology followed by a Master’s degree in occupational therapy. She works as a clinician at Lethbridge-Layton-Mackay Rehabilitation Center in Montreal and has had the opportunity to work in various pediatric physical rehabilitation programs. Over the years she has developed a passion for assistive technology in pediatrics. She continues to be involved in the McGill occupational therapy program by supervising students for research projects and clinical placement, as well as being a guest lecturer. Emma currently resides in Montreal, Quebec.  

Susie Ward, B.Kin

Susie is a research kinesiologist specializing in the clinical implementation of technology in neurological rehabilitation settings. She began her research career coordinating and assessing for trials at McMaster University and the University Health Network’s Kinesiology and Rehabilitation Sciences departments, where she developed a keen interest in the intersection between adaptive exercise and the utilization of technology to maximize outcomes and quality of life in those living with complex injuries and illnesses. She has since consulted for several industry leaders to develop business strategies to introduce a wide portfolio of innovative devices to the Canadian market, responsible for training and educating rehabilitation teams all over Canada. Susie currently resides in Toronto, Ontario.

Angela Williams, PT, DPT

Dr. Williams has more than 25 years of clinical experience in a variety of settings and was a clinical specialist for a medical device company, training therapists and patients using neuromuscular functional electrical stimulation devices. She specializes in neurological disorders and is currently the lead acute physical therapist for the stroke team in a comprehensive stroke center. She served on various interdisciplinary hospital committees and provided training and education to staff and at a recent professional conference. Angela received her Master of Science in Physical Therapy and Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Texas Woman’s University.  Angela currently resides in the DFW area of Texas.
